Tom Albert: Robert Aubrey Davis, the Grammys’ announcer, was sure disappointed that you weren’t there.

Tim Munro: What did he say exactly? I heard the end of it, but didn’t understand…was he pissed that we weren’t there?

TA: No, not pissed, just surprised. He announced the award, and seemed
genuinely pleased, then said something like, “I know they’re here; come
on up guys!” Then, when you didn’t, he said, “I was sure they were
going to be here.” And he accepted the award for you. I missed the
award after yours, but whoever won wasn’t there, either, and he said
of that winner, “He’s backstage with eighth blackbird.” Celebrate!
