On our recent trip to Seattle, a few of us made a pilgrimage to Salumi, the fantastic Italian meat shop and deli run by Mario Batali’s sister and brother-in-law. We thought it was run by his Dad, but it seems like the mantle’s been passed. Either way, it was awesome. Below, a photo montage of our experience.
Outside Salumi. So nice that they have a vegetarian option.

Inside. We didn’t know why the oranges were hanging in there, but we decided to go with the meatball sandwich instead.

The assorted salumi and cheese platter. Highlights: real Italian provolone (sharp and tasty) and mole salami (cinnamon-y good).

The Duv and the Phot, conquering Italian meats one mouthful at a time.

The Alb and the Kap, defeated but happy. See the empty plate in the middle of the table? See the picture two above this one? You do the math.
